Jane Rohde sat on the Green Building Initiative ANSI/GBI 01-2019 Green Globes Assessment Protocol for Commercial Buildings Revision Committee and subsequently participates on the Materials and IEQ sections of the GBI/ANSI Continual Maintenance Committee, the Green Building Initiative Technical Committee that assists with the development of Green Globes Certification criteria, and the GBI Performance and Tool Development Committee that includes summaries and updates of the Green Globes green building rating system and the Guiding Principles Compliance Verification based upon the Federal Government’s Guiding Principles.  Jane has been contracted to review and update the Green Globes – EB (GG-EB) rating system for the Materials and IEQ sections and complete the updates for Healthcare components that are proposed to be included within the new GG-EB tool versus re-creating a separate tool. The new electronic platform allows for Healthcare projects to have additional / different criteria within the electronic questions and responses based upon the specific project type versus having multiple certifications that have varying differences. This allows for consistency between building types and ease of use by the Green Globes user.  

During the last 10 years, Jane Rohde has assessed 32 hospitals under the Green Globes Existing Building rating system for the Veterans Administration throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Jane has also testified on behalf of the utilization of Green Globes in front of the US Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. The Veteran Administration has been a strong supporter of Green Globes as a rating system and that has continued with new outpatient clinics that are slated for completion in the upcoming years ahead.
